Activities

At Christ Church, we have many groups that you are invited to belong to.  Not all are Bible study groups, but all offer friendship, and help build a strong sense of belonging to our faith community here at Christ Church.  Time and commitment vary from group to group.  If you would like more information, please contact a member of the clergy through the Parish Office (3870 8887), or speak directly with the group's leader.

For Those Exploring Faith

There are three main points of development for Christians, sometimes known as "rites of passage".  These are Baptism, Admission to Communion and Confirmation.  It is also possible to mark particular stages of personal growth by re-affirming baptismal vows, or, if you have come to Christ Church from another denomination, by being admitted to the Anglican Church.

For Learning & Growing

WEDNESDAY MORNING Bible Study GROUP
This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 10-11am in the meeting room, using a book or a study guide for discussion. Bible knowledge is not important, but you do need a sense of humour!  During Lent this group meets on a weekly basis as part of the Lent Study Programme.  Please refer to the Pew Sheet for further details.

CHRIST CHURCH THEOLOGS GROUP

WELCOMING WEDNESDAY
On the first Wednesday of each month, from 10-11.30am (in the hall), speakers entertain the audience with talks on a wide range of subjects.  Socializing over tea, coffee and refreshments is a pleasant extension of these occasions.

PLAY SERIES
A group of diverse parishioners perform plays to highlight events in the Christian Liturgical year.  We have performed some updated scripts of the Dorothy Sayers radio plays from the 1940s and also "Doomsday" and "The Creation to the Nativity" from The Mysteries by Tony Harrison.  The plays offer the chance for parishioners to be involved through acting or behind the scenes roles, or to explore the plays as part of a study group.
